After about 3 episodes of fillers and recaps, now they didn't even bother to show us whole match for semi-final, only showing one-third of it. Not only that, Dande basically sweeping through Carne whole team, that Carne who have strategize and develop some of the best combo in series, and then claim he is just lucky??? Well at least Dande use Gigantamax Lizardon against Mega Sirknight, so still slightly better than how he beat Alan.

Honestly what makes this episode better is Shirona backstory, never would have I thought someday I would enjoy backstory more than battle.

Seriously Dande went from the most favourite trainer in pokemon universe, but catching up to Goh as most hated characteer in the series.

Goh is still a rather special case.
Dande annoyed players even in the game cause he literally "blocked" us out of the deeper parts of the story, and even exciting moments like "OH NO, GIGANTAMAX POKEMON ARE ON A RAMPAGE!"

Leon decide to use Gmax Charizard match with her but not Alain. Writers knew they fawk up first match. But they still be fawking up this match. Hellfire and Daijet was comebine that would make it stronger, but send another one Hellfire. Like how does that make any sense. When fire get stronger by wind. Get crush by another fire.

This really a weak episode. It not just that they send time with the kids, but overall that match was azz. Probabbly many oneshots. SirKnight ony use two move. What the hell happen to Moon Blast. And there thing that never make sense.

Leon's Pokemon are just that insanely overpowered.

I don't get why people think that anyone got nerfed when the point obviously is that Leon's Pokemon are just so much stronger.

If that is the case, the animation is not able to justify Leon's Pokemon being just so much stronger. If you recall the badassery of Alain's Charizard in the Mega Evolution Specials and Kalos League, you can't help but think that Alain was nerfed seeing his sloppy battle against Dande.

I mean, the strength of his charizard does not relate to Alain being an idiot...
He mega evovled it into a dragon type, giving himself a bigger type-disatvantage.

Not to mention, the way he took out DIanca only further nailed down how much more powerful Leon's Pokemon are.
Now, Dianca also just went in with a fighting type into a ghost type, but that is not the point.
Leon's Pokemon are just massively overpowered, what is directly shown by his Rillaboom just casually tanking a Fire Blast after already tanking through at least 2 other Pokemon and his charizard having such an insane control over its moves that it can just make a more compressed version of Dai Fire to burst through a thunder-powered up version of it.

I am glad they didn't show the detailed battles vs Carne. Because they would have been pointless one hit KOs since they needed to cram so many battles in 1 episode. Dande is just broken at this point up until he battles with Ash.

Yeah, real kick in the gut this ep tbh aside from Cynthia's backstory and Gardevoir vs Charizard.

I get they're trying to pad the anime out to align with gen 9's release but... does it really have to be like this? This series might've very been well finished by now (or really close) without all the delays and recaps tbh. Meh, at least they didn't wait another week after releasing that "special" recap earlier on today (otherwise I woulda been angry).

So, after waiting for so long to see this match we only get to see the last fight properly because it was most interesting to see a couple of kids interacting with Ash and the others. Good choice.

All they keep doing is trying to copy their previous successful animations.
I bet Dande vs Ash will end with Lucario and Chardizard because they want to re-create Greninja vs Chardizard from Kalos Finals.
